Get to Know 'Twilight' Vamp Bree Tanner

If you haven't had a chance to read Stephenie Meyer's "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella" but you want to learn more about Bree Tanner -- the short-lived but still very important "Eclipse" character-before the movie hits theaters on June 30, then you must check out this featurette from Summit that introduces the newborn vampire.

Bree Tanner is played by Jodelle Ferland, which I personally think is really right for the role of Bree. She's very cute, cute and lovable vampire. Seeing Bree alive in this video made me cry. I cried after reading The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner online and I end up wishing Stephenie would have ended Bree's story in Eclipse differently ~ she even said the same thing herself...

Can't wait to see Eclipse!

Our Last Vacation...

For some, the obstacles are few and far between...
For others, obstacles can lurk at every turn...
It's up to us as individuals how we deal with each situation...
We can fret and worry...
We can repeat the "Why me?" mantra until we turn blue...
But it doesn't help... been there... done that...

If you seek the positive, even in a tragic event...
you will be able to walk away with new insight or joy in the fact that...
you knew the person or had memories from happier times...

I'm just glad, we have memories and pictures...
of our last vacation with my mom... to live by...

I love you, Ma...
I miss you so much...

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Read This Book Online
This site will be live from noon EST on June 7th until midnight EST on July 5th.

After reading this (for almost 5 hours) online, I definitely feel a lot of sympathy towards the newborns who were merely pawns in Victoria's quest for revenge. After reading this you will care about what happens to her, even though as a Twilight fan you'll already know the outcome...a tragic end for Bree. Maybe you'll be left feeling, as Meyer was, that Bree's outcome should have been different. She deserved better. It was amazing to get Bree's side of the story to see her have the same struggles as twilight favorites such as love, devotion and pure confusion as well as the all new newborn experience which Bella didn't go through. It actually makes me appreciate Edward a lot more for his compassion; and love Bree as a strong-willed intelligent character. It's a shame it couldn't end well for her, but knowing this Stephanie Meyer did something quite amazing in that she brought the story to a place where you knew it was going to happen, Bree knew it was going to happen and you kind of wanted that for her, that final peace as the truth becomes known to the ones that need to know and yet again love is avenged.

After finishing this, I went back and re-read Bree's main scene in Eclipse (p. 568-578 in paperback), and I loved reading the story from both perspectives. Getting inside Bree's head was really interesting, while it was also great to go back and revisit the scene through Bella's eyes. I also enjoyed Bree's exchanges with Carlisle, Esme and Edward. Mostly Edward. I've missed him since the books ended. Meyer really needs to release Midnight Sun sometime soon!

A brilliant read and an amazing brilliant character! Another good short book by Stephenie Meyer to read!
