Bohol Peanut Kisses

When my office mate husband came back from his work (he's a seaman)...

he generously gave me a pack of Peanut Kisses as pasalubong...
I was really curious about it that as soon as I got home...
I opened it and popped them one by one...It looks like a Hershey's Kisses...
but it taste more like a cookies with peanut butter on it...
And it tasted good, really...
Definitely, this one’s going to be a MUST-have pasalubong for me!

LITTLE, BROWN BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS WILL RELEASE
NEW NOVEL FROM INTERNATIONAL PHENOMENON
STEPHENIE MEYER ON SATURDAY, JUNE 5, 2010
THE SHORT SECOND LIFE OF BREE TANNER: AN ECLIPSE NOVEL

NEW YORK, NY (March 30, 2010) – Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of
Hachette Book Group, has announced today that it will release the first new title from Stephenie
Meyer in nearly two years. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is a novella told from the point
of view of Bree, a character originally featured in Eclipse. The novella (at 192 pages) will be
released at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 in hardcover for $13.99 with a first printing of
1.5 million copies. One dollar for each book sold in the US from the first printing will be donated
to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which supports disaster relief efforts
such as those in Haiti and Chile.*

“I’m as surprised as anyone about this novella,” said Stephenie Meyer. “When I began working
on it in 2005, it was simply an exercise to help me examine the other side of Eclipse, which I
was editing at the time. I thought it might end up as a short story that I could include on my
website. Then, when work started on The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, I thought the Guide
would be a good fit for my Bree story. However, the story grew longer than I anticipated, until it
was too long to fit into the Guide.”
As a special thank you to fans, Meyer is giving them exclusive access to the novel on a
dedicated website, www.breetanner.com, from June 7 to July 5, 2010 where fans from around
the world will be able to read the book online in English. “I’d always considered The Short
Second Life of Bree Tanner as something for the fans,” said Meyer. “They have been so
supportive of all things Twilight.”

Visitors to the dedicated site will also find a link to the American Red Cross website
(www.redcross.org), where they can make a donation and learn more about their relief efforts
worldwide. “I have been moved by the generous outpouring of support for the recent crises in
Haiti and Chile,” said Meyer. “I am glad that sales of this book will support the American Red
Cross with their amazing efforts abroad.”
“Fans have been waiting with bated breath for a new book from Stephenie,” said Megan
Tingley, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. “We are
doubly thrilled to be giving them the opportunity to read this exciting new work as well as
contribute to an important cause at the same time.”

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is the riveting story of Bree Tanner, a newborn vampire
first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the world she inhabits. The novella chronicles
the newborn vampire army’s journey as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens,
following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

The character Bree not only features prominently in the book Eclipse, but in the upcoming
movie from Summit Entertainment. “Stephenie was gracious enough to let me read a draft of the
novella while we were prepping the movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” said Director David
Slade. “I thoroughly enjoyed the story and it gave us great insight and inspired location choices
and the tailoring of scenes. I think fans are going to love the fascinating details involved in the
loves, fears and actions of an emerging vampire.”

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner will also be available as an ebook beginning at 6:00 a.m.
EST on June 5, 2010. Additionally, more information about the previously announced The
Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, including publication date, will be released by the end of the
year.

In less than five years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. The
Twilight Saga’s translation rights have been sold in nearly 50 countries and 100 million copies
have been sold worldwide.

*Donations to the American Red Cross from the US sales of The Short Second Life of Bree
Tanner will continue until all first printing copies have been sold or at the end of a two-year
period from the initial publication date, whichever is the first to occur.
The American Red Cross name is used with its permission, which in no way constitutes an
endorsement, express or implied, of any product, service, company, opinion or political position.

You can pre-order the book at Amazon.

Mama Marisa

Marisa Estoesta
February 27, 1958 - April 18, 2009

Dearest Mama,

Happy Birthday, Mama...

We are celebrating your first birthday there in heaven...

It's been nearly a year since you left suddenly...

It would have been nice to have a final chat with you...

but time did not allow us the privilege...

Massive stroke ripped you away too fast...

stealing your life and robbing me of life with you...

Had there been warning, I would have come home more often, and stayed longer...

Had I known, I might not have moved so far away...

But if you knew the warning signs, you kept them to yourself...

You would not have wanted to alter life for any of your children...

But Ma, your passing altered our lives, plenty...

You left daughters and son without a mother to direct us into our senior years...

You left grandchildren who depended upon your thoughtful eye...

And when you left Ma, you took my friend, my counselor...

and my only remaining parent...

It changed me. I had to grow up...

No mother would be there to catch me or fund my mistakes...

No mother would love me despite my faults...

No mother would answer the phone and listen to my news...

I tear-up when I realize...

I will never see my little old mother walk hand-in-hand with my old step-father...

I will never need to push you in a wheelchair - for you are not growing older - like I am...

One day Ma, we shall embrace again - one day on the other side...

Until then, I think of you often and send my love as I visit you...

My thoughts of you are many and my love for you is deep...

Happy 1st Birthday (in heaven), Ma!

Loving you always,

Michelle
Your Eldest Daughter

My mama just passed away last April…
The devastation of losing my mama knocked the wind out of me…
And you know what? It will never go away…
Anyone who has lost someone that is that close to you will always carry that pain…

And now that our beloved Grandfather has left us too…
It broke our hearts to see him have to go through all the pain…
We just wanted to take the disease from him and make him better again…
I wish every day that we had more time…

It hurts us, it devastates us forever, but you know what?...
We owe it to him to get back up,
to strive ahead, and to try harder…
We got to keep going…

Our Grandfather was a very loving Husband, Father and Grandfather ...
Our Grandfather was a strong man who always took care of us and everyone else…
We have been very fortunate in life to have a Great Grandfather…

"We have the best grandfather in the whole world...
and we will miss him every day."

Quinoa

Botanical Name:
Chenopodium quinoa

Description: Quinoa, pronounced keen-wah, is not a true cereal grain, but rather the botanical fruit of an herb plant. It is treated as a grain in cooking. The grains are small yellow flattened spheres, approximately 1.5 to 2 mm in diameter. When cooked, the germ coils into a small "tail" that lends a pleasant crunch. The leaves of the quinoa plant can also be eaten.

Quinoa is an excellent source of magnesium and manganese, the mineral that relaxes blood vessels. Since low dietary levels of magnesium are associated with increased rates of hypertension, ischemic heart disease and heart arrhythmias, this ancient grain can offer yet another way to provide cardiovascular health for those concerned about atherosclerosis. And if you are prone to migraines, try adding quinoa to your diet.

Quinoa is a very good source of protein, vitamin B2, vitamin E, and dietary fiber. It’s a good source of the minerals iron, phosphorus, copper, and zinc.

Quinoa is gluten free, and is a safe alternative for wheat/gluten intolerant individuals, and celiac disease sufferers.

Quinoa not only has high protein content, but the protein is of an exceptionally high quality. It contains all the essential amino acids, making quinoa an excellent protein source for vegetarians. Quinoa is being considered by NASA as a crop for Controlled Ecological Life Support System (CELSS) because of its high protein value and unique amino acid composition. The CELSS concept will utilize plants to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and generate food, oxygen, and water for the crew of long-term human space missions.

BUT Quinoa contains oxalate, and should be avoided by individuals with a history of kidney stones containing oxalate.
